Gallstones are a common surgical problem. Many people get worried when they have gallstones, whether to operate it or treat it with medicine.

If the operation is done, how will it be done – through laparoscopy, or will it be cut – will I have to go abroad for this operation; Or is it possible to operate in the country? Is it done by any surgeon, or does it require a laparoscopy surgeon? If operated through laparoscopy, will some stones remain? Is it better to cut it? Many such questions have to be faced.

I would like to reassure the patients that if someone has stones in the gall bladder, those who work in every general surgeon’s department these days, treat it only through laparoscopy.

Most general surgeons are laparoscopic surgeons. Each of them has mastered this technique. If gallstones can be operated through laparoscopy, there is no need to cut the stomach, we take out the gall bladder with the stones through laparoscopy by making four small holes in the stomach, so there is very little chance of stones remaining inside the stomach. Skilled surgeons who are highly experienced in laparoscopy perform this surgery.

This surgery is done in many places in Bangladesh, we also maintain 100% tradability very efficiently, and we do this work. This allows our patients to go home the day after the operation, no incisions are required and the chance of infection during the postoperative period is also very low.

Today there is no need for surgery to remove gallstones. If someone is found to have many stones in the gallbladder, bile ducts, or other complications, they only require excision. If someone also has stones in the bile ducts, they do not need surgery. ERCP removes stones from the bile duct by inserting a device through the mouth. We have many endoscopic surgeons who do this very efficiently.

We, who are surgeons, perform gallbladder surgery through laparoscopy. You don’t need to go abroad for this operation. Gallstones will not go on medication; If this stone remains for a long time, if you have many unnecessary fears, then it will be seen that many complications may arise. In that case, the stone in the gall bladder may pass into the bile duct or there may be various infections of the gall bladder. What we call empyema gallbladder.

If stones remain in the gall bladder for a long time, these stones (although very few in number) can also cause melanges or tumors. So if you have gallstone pain, don’t dwell on it; Don’t worry unnecessarily, and don’t get distracted by anyone.

Many of those who cannot operate gallstones laparoscopically or in centers that do not, may misunderstand patients in various ways. Eg: Laparoscopic surgery leaves some stones behind. This is very misleading information. Laparoscopy is a very modern treatment in today’s world. Many surgeons perform this surgery with great skill; There is no need to travel abroad to get this done, and there is no need to find a separate laparoscopy surgeon. Every general surgeon performs this surgery with great skill. Surgeons can perform these operations very safely in district headquarters or large centers.
